28.6 Current info on the divine coral.

The coral gemquest will consist of three separate activites by which you may earn points toward earning the Divine Coral. At some point during the gemquest, all three of these activities will be running concurrently.

All those wishing to compete should declare themselves with the PARTICIPATE command

The first and most basic will be the marathon questing. You can earn points by performing quests. The more often a quest is performed, the less it will be worth. All quest items will be redistributed every 8 hours. The quest values will be restored to full periodically to allow those who may join late a chance to do quests at full points.

The only rule currently is that you are not to slay quest CCCs in order to deny them to others. It is possible for this to be enforced automatically, but as the death of some CCCs is necessary to complete some quests, that option will not be exercised untill necessary.

The second quest is a torchquest race. Read HELP TORCHQUEST for more information. Please note that there are specific conditions for a torchquest, including how fast you can walk from room to room, whether you can cross the skies or water and whether you can slay other competitors or not. RULES will show you the current rules. Because this quest involves the sea, the biggest change between rounds will be whether you can cross water with a torch or whether the water will extinguish it.

The third quest will involve REDEEMing shells found around the land at the oysters currently set up at city centers and the Meeting Place. Every hour, points will be awarded to the person who has redeemed the most value in shells. Some shells are more valuable than others, as any collector knows. However...at the end of the quest, the person with the most points worth of shells will gain a much larger number of points. So the question is, do you redeem your shells now or save them until the end?

If you have to depart the game for a while, you may LODGE the shells at the same oysters. When you return, the shells will reappear in your inventory. Be aware though that if you do not leave the land, the shells will find their way back to your possession rather quickly
